Fusion Portfolio Review

Stabilize Workfront Fusion to unlock decision-grade Workfront.

When Fusion automations are brittle or unpredictable, our Portfolio Review inventories scenarios, identifies hard-coded rules and governance gaps, and delivers a prioritized stabilization roadmap.

  • Portfolio-wide inventory of scenarios and dependencies
  • Risk and governance assessment grounded in how your team operates
  • A roadmap that prioritizes stability first, then decision-grade reporting

Why stability matters

Stability is the prerequisite for decision-grade reporting.

Hard-coded rules and unpredictable Fusion behavior erode trust. When errors push teams back to email, Slack, and spreadsheets, Workfront loses the signals it needs to function as a system of record—and reporting becomes disputed.

For PMO and Finance, instability shows up as unreliable cycle time, inconsistent throughput, unclear SLA performance, and exceptions that never make it into the system. Stabilizing Fusion is the first step toward decision-grade Operational Intelligence.

How it works

A portfolio review designed for governed stabilization.

How the Portfolio Review works

  • Inventory scenarios, triggers, data paths, and dependencies across your Fusion estate.
  • Assess brittleness, failure modes, and governance gaps that create operational risk.
  • Prioritize remediation and publish a stabilization roadmap your team can execute and maintain.

What “stable” means

  • Predictable: same inputs ? same outputs
  • Observable: errors are logged and alert the right people
  • Maintainable: rules are defined in Workfront data, not buried in code
  • Owned: change control and a release process with clear owners

Deliverables

What you get from the review.

Scenario inventory

A usable map of scenarios, triggers, owners, and dependencies.

Risk profile

Failure modes, brittleness hotspots, and operational impact.

Governance gaps

Where ownership, change control, logging, and standards are missing.

Stabilization roadmap

A prioritized work plan with sequencing and recommended standards.

Executive summary

A decision-ready brief for PMO/Finance stakeholders.

Out of scope

To keep the review decision-grade and repeatable, we do not mix it with ad-hoc changes.

  • No refactor or rebuild during the review. Execution happens in a Stabilization Sprint.
  • No isolated fixes without governance. We won’t “patch” issues in a way that increases long-term risk.
  • No net-new integrations outside review scope. The goal is portfolio clarity and a roadmap.

Typical timeline: ~3 weeks

Most reviews complete in approximately three weeks from access to readout, depending on scenario count and complexity.

Week 1 — Access + inventory

Collect scenario details, establish an estate map, and identify critical paths.

Week 2 — Risk + governance assessment

Analyze brittleness, failure modes, and ownership/change-control gaps.

Week 3 — Roadmap + executive readout

Prioritize stabilization work, align on standards, and confirm next steps.

What happens next

The Portfolio Review is designed to start a stabilization and Operational Intelligence journey: stabilize automation first, then establish decision-grade Flow + SLA, then expand the decision layer.

Stabilization Sprint

  • Refactor fragile logic and reduce brittleness
  • Externalize rules into Workfront data where appropriate
  • Implement logging/monitoring and establish change control

Operational Intelligence Diagnostic (Flow + SLA)

  • Define decision-grade metrics and exclusions
  • Validate data integrity and establish governance
  • Deliver trustworthy reporting for PMO/Finance conversations

Expand the decision layer

  • Capacity visibility
  • Forecasting and scenario planning
  • Financial visibility once the baseline is stable and governed

FAQ

Can you just fix one scenario?

If the issue is truly isolated, a portfolio review may be more than you need. In most enterprises, “one scenario” is coupled to shared rules, shared data, and shared failure modes. The review ensures any remediation is governed, observable, and maintainable—so you do not reintroduce the same risk elsewhere.

No documentation—can you still do this?

Yes. We can derive an inventory from Fusion scenario configurations, run history/logs, and Workfront objects. The review produces the documentation you should have had all along: scenario inventory, ownership gaps, and a stabilization roadmap.

Will this disrupt production?

The review is designed to be low-risk. We focus on access, observation, and analysis—not production changes. Any remediation work is scoped and executed separately in a Stabilization Sprint.

Not sure where to start?

If you’re seeing brittle automation and unpredictable outcomes, start with stabilization. If your primary pain is disputed reporting and untrusted metrics, start with Operational Intelligence.

Fusion is brittle or unpredictable

Start with a portfolio-wide review and a stabilization roadmap.

You need trusted metrics (Flow + SLA)

Start with the Operational Intelligence Diagnostic to establish decision-grade definitions and integrity checks.
